Cytec’s Powder Coatings business
launches CRYLCOAT® Primavera
Affordable and Reliable – A New Benchmark
Woodland Park, NJ, July 1, 2009 - Cytec Industries Inc.
(NYSE:CYT) has launched another innovative product family -
CRYLCOAT® Primavera polyester resin. It is Cytec’s reply to the
continued market demand for reduced formulation cost in Powder
Coatings without compromising on reliability of product supply
and quality.
The first member of the new CRYLCOAT® Primavera polyester resin
family, CRYLCOAT® E04048, is a 60:40 hybrid resin designed for
general metal indoor applications. Powder paints based on this
resin will cure at 190°C for 10 minutes and give overall
performances in line with standard hybrid formulations. In
particular, it will exhibit good properties in terms of
appearance and good resistance to solvents and boiling water.

cost-competitive solutions in the Powder Coatings industry. That
has been the case in particular for general metal applications
where paint manufacturers are faced with a difficult choice in
terms of compromise between raw material price and reliability

Primavera. A completely new product family that offers lower
formulation
cost, steady performance and reliability of supply. CRYLCOAT®
E04048 is only the start for this new technology. We have
currently another 5 products in the Primavera family for indoor
and outdoor applications under development.” he adds.
